San Valentine's day

Materials:

• Picture cards of different Valentine's Day symbols (hearts, flowers, chocolates, cards, etc.)
• Heart-shaped stickers
• Red and pink construction paper
• Crayons, markers, and scissors
• Valentine's Day-themed storybook or video

Engage (5-10 minutes)

1. Show students the picture cards of different Valentine's Day symbols and ask them if they recognize any of them.
2. Ask students if they know what holiday these symbols represent and what they mean.
3. Explain that today we will be learning about a special holiday called Valentine's Day.

Explore (15-20 minutes)

1. Ask students if they have ever celebrated Valentine's Day before and if they have any experiences or memories to share.
2. Introduce the concept of "love" and explain that Valentine's Day is a day to show love and affection to people we care about.
3. Show students a Valentine's Day-themed storybook or video and ask them to identify different Valentine's Day traditions and symbols.
4. Hand out heart-shaped stickers and ask students to decorate their notebooks or desks with them.

Explain (10-15 minutes)

1. Explain the history and origin of Valentine's Day, including the story of Saint Valentine and the different legends associated with the holiday.
